Product Description
So what's the ideal golfing experience? Super Swing Golf 2 has got an idea for you! It includes even more courses and costumes than its first installment, including those of Ryu Hayabusa and Rachel from Ninja Gaiden. New modes such as the tour mode will allow players to acquire new items and costumes as they progress through the game. There are also new special moves such as "spike shots " which are like super shots that won't be affected by wind factors. And if that's not enough to wow you, the highly expressive characters with uniquely personal skills, beautifully-rendered exotic locations, multiplayer minigames, and crazy extra features like warp holes, RPG-style action sequences, dragons and little gelatinous animals that chase your ball around will!
ESRB Rated E10 for ages 10 and up

4 out of 5 stars awesome!   July 7, 2008
initially I am sceptical of this game, after playing Wii Sports and also burrowed my freind's TIgerwood 2008. this one is more "fun".. controls is not bad .... the game is quite easy to follow and have endless fun! some annoying typical of Japanese game titles of some stupid stories goin on! but the game play is really good ! Good graphics! and the AI and all is good!

4 out of 5 stars Fun, Fun, Fun - Unless You Are Left Handed   June 5, 2008

This game is a lot of fun, I have only had it for 1 day and I am already hooked. I am slowly getting the hang of the PANGYA shot which I am sure will make sense to you if you get the game. More PANGYA adds on to the the prize purse which appears to be the currency in SSwingG2.

Within 5 minutes you will master how to take shots, upgrade clubs and your fashion sense at the shops and be ready for your first match play game. The opponent was truly rubbish, but it was a good confidence builder (almost chipping in for a Birdie on the first hole and him Quad Bogeying). If you start with the girl make sure you upgrade her clubs twice before starting your first matchplay game otherwise you'll not reach the 2nd Hole without going for a swim a few times. Second problem, if you upgrade anything make sure you equip it, I spent my start up fund for 2 club set upgrades and marched on over to the matchplay game. Only to find I had the naff starter club set instead of my spankingly new Air Cutter Clubs. BE WARNED ^_^

Ah yes the minus points, DAMN it man I am left handed, what do I see on screen after choosing a lefty, A DUMB SPRITE STANDING LIKE A RIGHTY. It was really disconcerting watching someone swing the opposite way to me although we try to hit the same ball. It messes wiv me loaf* mate! I played some very old golf games going back to the Megadrive for goodness sake and they had the capacity to orient themselves appropriately based on their handedness. Please don't do the same in SSwingG3 Gamers!!!!!!!! Or at least put on the packet 'If left-handed please send off for the free mirror attachment'

PS I have to agree with another previous comment, holding a golf club in the air for a longer time so it will 'charge up' is a little odd. But you get round this pretty quick and ignore the 'strangeness'.

PPS The wife forbade me from getting golf games, but every cloud as they say; she loves SSwingG2 and going to the shops and spending all my hard earned money (just like real-life) but this doesn't damage MY WALLET. In the words of Stewie Griffin 'VICTORY IS MINE' MWA HAHAHAHAHAHA ;-)

5 out of 5 stars A golf game that makes you laugh. Not for serious golfers.   February 16, 2008

Retiree here. After reaching pro level on Wii golf, I wanted to play a different golf game. The same course (Wii golf) is too repetitive. I agree with the other 2 reviews posted to date. Just purchased it, have played for 2 hours, and will update this ASAP. It's a fun game with very good graphics. I have not read the directions yet, (like to jump in and play first), and found swinging confusing until I realized how it works. You lift your club until the blue line on the power bar, equals the distance you need to drive. Totally different than Wii golf, and should not be confused with a real golf match game. However, there is enough golf, and interesting scenery, to satisfy my desire for a second game. This game is a sleeper, and will get much more playing time than some other titles I have reviewed.

While Miis are not used, the characters are a definite plus. They are lifelike humans, rather than cartoonish. When you have some winnings, you take your character to the clubhouse, and dress them as you like. The costumes range from conservative to highly suggestive. I wasn't able to purchase the new clothing, but I was able to change my character into the different outfits. Initially, you only have a choice of 2 characters. I am using Hanah, a cute and personable girl of about 20. She has a cute voice. Based on my initial 3 hole practice round (done 4 times until my first birdie), I expect to put quite a few hours on this game.

This is my update. I have now read the directions. Marginal help. Then I went through the tutorial again. I was making a lot of mistakes. You need to go through the tutorial a second time. It means more after you have played. You can change the direction of your putts and drives, just like Wii golf. The special shots are fun. I just finished 3 more hours of play. The game is addictive, once you understand it. You have to like humor. I like Rayman Rabbits. I think 8 years and up is an appropriate age level. Girls 8+ will especially like the different costumes and accessories available. Boys will just like the game play. It's also great for adults. I'm a retiree. The key is to go through the tutorial several times. Once before you play. then at least once after you have played for 1-2 hours. I was initially frustrated before I went back to the tutorial. I think this is a great game and will be playing it quite a bit.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but....   January 7, 2008

Good game...not great, here's why:

I agree with the previous review that the "special" shots are a bit confusing and are not described very well in the manual. I've been playing the game for several weeks now and am still not sure I'm doing them right. Most shots I apply back or front spin to. Does it happen? Who knows! I honestly can't tell. That said, the game so far has been fairly easy without the benefits of these bonus shots.

The other thing that bothers me about the game is the way you power a swing by lifting your "club" and holding it there. Anyone who has played golf knows that the swing should be one fluid motion: this is just plain wrong and awkward. You still swing naturally, but there should be no interruption between the backswing and the swing! However, just the action of swinging the wii remote brings so much more to the video game that I am willing to forgive this. From what I have researched, the soon-to-be-released We Love Golf (the only other golf game I considered) uses this same technique. Why can't we swing like a normal golfer and not like a beginner? From what I have played on Wii Golf and read about Tiger Woods Golf, the answer seems to be that the Wii remote has a hard time accurately gauging the power of your swing. I eagerly await the wii golf game that can do this; maybe one with an extra sensor that will read your swing from the side?

In the meantime, I'm content with Super Swing Golf 2. The game looks beautiful, and the courses are challenging and inventive enough to keep you interested. The game has a manga-type look to it's characters, so over-protective parents should be advised that some players (and one in particular) are dressed a bit provocatively. Hey, it's keeping me playing...

4 out of 5 stars A fun golf game w/ challenging skills yet to figure out   January 4, 2008

Super Swing Golf Season 2 for Wii is a lot of fun. I am still trying to master some of the more advanced shots which aren't explained all that well in the written instructions and aren't covered in the tutorial portions of the game. Having said that, it's still very enjoyable. My kids can play, although my 5-year-old needs some help with getting lined up and gauging distances sometimes. From what I've heard it is a lot more forgiving than a more advanced golf game like the Tiger Woods game.
